In addition to Monday's Four Points of the Compass Tour, where participants visited the north, east, south and west edges of the appellation, two tasting seminars were held in 2004. The Style Seminar focused on the lexicon of the Russian River Valley, and what makes wines from here different from those made in other parts of the country and world. The Point/Counterpoint Seminar explored the history and evolution of winemaking in the Russian River Valley, and tackled both sides of issues such as cold soaking and whole cluster vs. destemmed pressing.
