Located in the heart of the Green Valley in the Russian River appellation, Kosta Browne Winery was founded by Dan Kosta & Michael Browne in 1997. The goal from the beginning was to produce world-class Pinot Noir from grapes grown in our home of Sonoma County. Today, Kosta Browne offers a wide variety of Pinot Noir. Focusing on varietal character and respect for the grape, Dan & Michael produce seven different Pinot Noirs from the Santa Lucia Highlands, Sonoma Coast and Russian River appellations.

Dan and Michael both have extensive wine and culinary backgrounds, which influence the style and mission at Kosta Browne. Dan Kosta is a native of Sonoma County. His love of wine began as a child running around his father's wine shop. Dan worked for more than 15 years in the fine dining industry, with the majority of his experience gained at John Ash & Co. is Santa Rosa, California, ultimately becoming General Manager and Head Sommelier. Michael, an aspiring architect, worked at local fine dining establishments to pay the bills when he fell in love with wine. Michael is the winemaker for Kosta Browne and together with Dan, oversees all operations at the winery.
