The Pellegrini family has been involved in the grape and wine business since 1933.
In 1975 they planted seventy acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at their Olivet Lane estate in the heart of Russian River Valley, and by the mid-eighties wines bearing the Olivet Lane vineyard designation began to gain considerable notoriety. Today the site is recognized as one of the heritage vineyards of the appellation.
In 2001, a state-of-the-art winery was constructed on the property, allowing for small open-top fermentation, barrel aging, and bottling. The combination of artisan techniques, modern equipment, and a winemaking style that favors finesse over power are the hallmarks of these "domaine" wines.
