Winemaker & Forum Contact: Rod Berglund

Joseph Swan began to realize his dream of making small lots of the world's finest wines in 1967 when he purchased a small farm in the center of what is now known as the Russian River Valley. Here he planted what is now known as the Swan Clone of pinot noir. In 1987 his son-in-law, winemaker Rod Bergludn, joined Joe at the winery and took over the day-to-day operations upon Joe's death some months later. Today, the winery produces about 2000 cases of pinot noir each year. In addition to the Trenton Estate, grapes are sourced from three additional, unique vineyard sources. Each bottling is unique in keeping with Rod's philosophy that wines' first duty is to express a sense of place.
